RUN THE
CITY.
OWN THE PARK.
NYRRC.net is NYC's most inclusive running crew since 1978. From first 5K to Boston Qualifier — Central Park dawn patrols, Brooklyn track nights, Bronx trails and 320+ races a year. All paces. All boroughs. All heart.
Born on the
reservoir loop
Founded in 1978 by three postal workers who ran before shifts. Today NYRRC is a non-profit community powering everyday runners across all five boroughs.
Running is for every body
We believe finish lines belong to everyone. NYRRC removes barriers: free youth teams, sliding-scale membership, beginner walk-run groups, adaptive athletes program, and pace leaders who never leave anyone behind.

Every week we host 14 free group runs, from sunrise 5AM miles around Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir to sunset strides on the Hudson Greenway. No watch, no fancy shoes required — just show up.
More than miles
We are coaches, volunteers, race directors, park cleaners and cheer squads. We time your first mile and pace your 26th. We bring bagels, safety bikes, and loud cowbells.

Questions? Answered.
Do I need to be fast to join?
No. 70% run slower than 10:00/mile. We have pace groups 7:00 to 13:00+, plus walk-run. Nobody gets dropped — sweeper pacer always last.
Where do you meet?
Central Park (Engineer's Gate, Bow Bridge), Prospect Park Bartel-Pritchard, Van Cortlandt Stadium, Hudson Pier 84. Full pins in member app + weekly email Thursday.
Can beginners train for marathon?
Yes, if you can run 6 miles comfortably. Our 16-24 week bridge takes you from 10K to marathon safely with strength + physio checks.
What gear do I need?
Just shoes. We do free gait analysis at clubhouse, lend headlamps for night trails, and have lockers so you can run-commute.
Can I volunteer?
Absolutely — 400+ volunteers power our races. Timing, water stops, cheer zones. Volunteers race free next event.
